Effective Hair Straightening Made Easy With A Ceramic Heater Stove

CLICK for details

Professional hair care providers and beauty salons are used by many women who want their hair to be healthy, well cared for and flattering to their appearance.  Women have different hair textures and need the services of a professional hairdresser who is trained in the composition and care of their particular type of hair. Other factors affect a woman’s hair, such as whether or not the hair has been colored or has been given a permanent wave.

Women of African descent have a hair composition that is unique to their race. Part of Afro hair care is techniques employed by professional hair dressers to straighten hair shafts for a smooth appearance and reduction of “frizzing”. To accomplish professional straightening of hair, a ceramic heater stove is used to heat the irons and combs utilized in the straightening process.  These stoves are used largely only by professionals in salons rather than individuals doing their own coiffures at home.  These stoves have intense heating elements that allow for instantaneous usage of heated irons and curlers. In other words, they are extremely hot and must be used with great care.

Ceramic heater stoves are typically constructed of a ceramic material of excellent quality that provides for even distribution of heat inside the stove. The back panel design assists in holding heating tools within the heater. Most models maintain the high “instant heat” temperature of 825° F (460° C).   Thermal irons and combs are the type of tools that are placed in the stove. It instantly heats them within a minute. These heated instruments are then used for straightening hair.  A hair stylist is aware that the stove-heated irons must not get too hot or they will badly damage a woman’s hair.  They also use such heated instruments only as much as needed to create a certain desired hairstyle and no more.  Such heater stove-warmed hair styling instruments should not be used more than once a month on the same person’s hair to lessen the chance of damaging the hair. They also may not be used with flammable products or anywhere near where such products are located.

There are several types of ceramic heater stoves on the market today. Brands include Gold “N Hot by Belson, Golden Supreme, Kentucky Maid, Stella Pro and Annie International.  The basic characteristics of these appliances are:

  • A ceramic element that maintains even and steady heat
  • An adjustable rack (or support)for the tools to be heated
  • A four foot long power cord
  • Space for one (or two) irons and one comb
  • An on/off switch (usually found on the cord)

The Belson models of ceramic heater stoves include the Gold ‘N Hot GH5100 Professional Jumbo with a suggested retail price (SRP) of $74.99 and the Gold ‘N Hot GH5000 Professional Ceramic Heater Stove with Adjustable Rack offered at $89.99 (SRP), both by Belson Products.  The Annie Ceramic Thermal Stove Jumbo Model 5526 is produced by Annie International. It also comes with a one year guarantee.  The Golden Supreme model is manufactured by the company of the same name.
